§ 2.60.020. Duties of the department.

The agency shall be responsible for the performance of services related to the physical environment for the unincorporated areas of the County as well as specific Cities within the County through Joint Powers Agreements or by contract including responsibility for: (1) the administration of the County subdivision and zoning regulations, including the evaluation and approval of the design of new development and enforcement of such codes and regulations; (2) the administration of the California Environmental Quality Act and the County's timber harvesting, surface mining and oil and gas regulations; (3) the preparation and updating of development regulations such as zoning and subdivision ordinances and the County General Plan, including the Local Coastal Plan; and (4) other matters as determined by the County Manager.
