§ 2.24.040. Terms, vacancies and removal.

  • (a)

    The members appointed pursuant to section 2.24.030(e) of this chapter shall serve 3-year terms and shall serve at the pleasure of the Board of Supervisors. The members of the Commission described in section 2.24.030(e) of this chapter shall be classified by the Board of Supervisors so that their terms are staggered, and shall serve until the appointment of the member's successor unless the termination of their membership is for one of the reasons listed in section 2.24.040(b). Members serving pursuant to sections 2.24.030(a) through (d) of this chapter shall serve without term limit but only as long as they hold their specified County offices.

    (b)

    A vacancy on the Commission shall occur upon the end of the incumbent's term and on the happening of any of the following events before the expiration of the term:

    1.

    Removal of the incumbent for any reason by the Board of Supervisors, including ceasing to be a representative from the category for which they were chosen;

    2.

    Death of the incumbent;

    3.

    Resignation of the incumbent.

    Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired portion of the term in the same manner used to select members chosen under section 2.24.030(e) of this chapter.

    (c)

    Members of the Commission selected pursuant to section 2.24.030(e) of this chapter may serve no more than two consecutive full terms of service.
